Dr. Neena M. Williams
Director, Mount Carmel Schools
M.A., M.Ed., Ph.D
The founder and keystone of Mount Carmel, Dr. Mrs. Williams was the proverbial "accidental child". Born to Major Ernest and Louisa Cathleen David in Srinagar, she was a good twenty years younger than her brother who was already a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force. Her mother, an educationist, was Principal of a girls school. The freedom struggle painted its portraits of hate and violence in the aftermath of partition, burning the images deep into her impressionable mind.
Having worked as a teacher, she knew her life's calling involved making a difference in the lives of children. And what an impact God has made in the lives of Carmelians using her. She desires excellence in everything she undertakes. Her primary aim in establishing Mount Carmel was to provide quality education for children whose parents could not afford expensive education. She has served as the Principal of both Anand Niketan and Dwarka Schools.
