Enrichment Activities
Learning at a child’s level must involve all things that attract them. Emphasis is laid on Art and Craft, Music, Physical Education, Value Education, Computer Education, English and Math Lab activities to ensure an overall development of each child.
Co-curricular activities are an integral part of the curriculum. All students are encouraged to participate thereby ensuring a healthy competitive spirit in them.
Junior School carries out different activities like Calligraphy, Origamy, Flower Arrangement, Story Telling, Spell Bee, Best out of Waste, Card Making, Poster Making, Finger/Hand puppet making, Clay modeling, Memory Verse Recitation to name a few. Regular Sports activities are also conducted for an overall development of the students.
Physical Education
At Mount Carmel, we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in making our vision a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better. Through PE & Sport our children learn to develop the important qualities of discipline, resilience, communication, teamwork, and ambition, leading to improved concentration, attitude, and academic achievement. Starting with basic fundamental skills like throwing, jumping, catching to improve their endurance, strength, flexibility, speed, agility etc. We believe that for a good building the base should be strong.
Value Education
The aim of education at Mount Carmel is based on Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom (mental and emotional development) and in stature (physical development) and in favour with God (spiritual development) and men (social development).” Helping a child grow spiritually is one aspect of the four-fold development. It is our desire that our children grow up with knowledge of the living God in their lives. This will be a compass as they face decisions of good and evil, right and wrong in their daily lives.
Computer Aided Learning
While the chalk and the blackboard are still integral to a classroom, the use of technology has expanded the four walls to the ends of the universe. We have created a blend of 21st century and traditional pedagogy. Introducing the usage of computers, having large screen television monitors in classrooms that are wired to the net and child-friendly keyboards, students are prepared for todays’ tech world.
